Why are we here?

What is DonateWare?

DonateWare is a service that allows you to start campaigns and put a "donate" button on your site/blog, to help you collecting funds. When donating via DonateWare, you will automatically collaborate with the Social Fund - a non-profit initiative we keep to help non-profit organizations on developing countries.

How can I donate?

You can support any project listed on DonateWare using PayPal or a credit card.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes, you can. The "donate" button works for anyone - you don't need to have an account on DonateWare to support a project.

What kind of campaign can I start on DonateWare?

You can start a campaign to raise funds for anything you neede, really. Be it funds to support an open source software project, your local charity institution, commercial projects or any other idea you have and need money to make it a reality.

How do I receive the donations made through DonateWare?

Every donation made through DonateWare is routed to our PayPal account. We deduct the value you specify when you create a new campaign from the amount donated and redirect 100% of the remaining to the PayPal account you specify when registering your account. To reduce processing costs, these payments are usually sent out once a month - but you can request your available funds any time, if you need.

What is the Social Fund?

it works like a tax, but in a good way: every time you create a fund raising campaign, you specify how much (in percentage) of the proceeds will be used to help non-profit organizations. After each donation is made, we deduct that percentage and promptly redirect the remaining of the donation to your account. We don't add any extra transaction costs apart from PayPal's cost. And yes, you can set up your tax-free campaign too. In that case we won't retain any percentage of the campaign proceeds.

Why not using PayPal directly?

DonateWare does not compete with PayPal or any other online payment website. Our objective is really to help you raising funds by providing a unified payment network where people hoping to help can fund projects or people in need - while helping institutions in need. If you don't approve the cause or are not willing to help on that, using PayPal directly is a nice way to go.

So how does DonateWare make money?

Basically we profit from selling advertisement space on the website. No profit comes from the donations mediated by DonateWare. More than that, being able to help important institutions to keep up with their excelent jobs is a very rewarding experience on itself. Of course, you can support us too, if you want. It will be highly appreciated ;)

Who are we?

DonateWare is developed and maintained by Sollipsis - a Brazilian privately-held consulting IT company that works with several customers around the globe. The company fund non-profit organizations in Brazil (and hopefully, other developing countries as this project grows :) ).

Who does DonateWare support?

Currently we support a couple of non-profit associations in Brazil. More will come, as the project grows. You can help that cause! Sign in now and fund someone in need.
